The Episcopal Diocese of Northern Indiana is organizing a two-day Beloved Community Conversation workshop as part of accompanying our faith communities in their efforts to engage in Becoming Beloved Community Initiative. This event is in the continuation of our EDNIN Roanridge project.
The Beloved Community Conversation workshop has been designed to enable participants to develop and sharpen skills and knowledge in story-sharing around race, faith, and difference and empower them to seeking a way to engage in racial reconciliation in the context of their congregations and surrounding communities.
After completion of the workshop, newly trained facilitators in community conversation will be expected to work with the Rector or Priest-in-charge of their faith community to explore ways by which they could convene space for racial reconciliation across divides in their congregations and surrounding communities. We would love to have at least one person from each parish attend.
We warmly invite you to reserve the date as you consider attending this first EDNIN Beloved Community Conversation and joining other clergy and lay leaders of our faith communities with a passion for the ministry of reconciliation.
When: Friday, March 22, 5-9 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. (Eastern)
Where: Lindenwood Retreat and Conference Center
Cost: Free. This training if covered by our Roanridge grant.
