Continuing Education Grants
Continuing Education Grants are awarded by the Continuing Education Subcommittee of the Commission on Ministry. Apply for the 2025 Continuing Education Grant here.
Continuing Education Grants are awarded by the Continuing Education Subcommittee of the Commission on Ministry.
Applicants may be either a clergy or parishioner who attends church regularly at a faith community within the Episcopal Diocese of Indiana.
Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Applicants must state the amount of request and specify the reason for the request.
In order to maximize the use of the grant funds, as well as provide grant awards of funds to as many requesters as possible, the maximum award is set at $1,000.
The application deadline is May 31 of each year.
All requests must be made in writing (electronic or handwritten) and submitted to the Missioner for Special Projects, Joe Anand-Obleton, who will then forward them by email to the Commission on Ministry Grant Committee Chairperson.
All requests are forwarded by the Grant Committee Chairperson to members of the Grant Committee.
The Grant Committee Chairperson will annually request the total amount of grant funds available from the Diocesan Treasurer. This information will then be shared with the Commission on Ministry Grant Committee.
After the application deadline has passed, the Grant Committee will meet to determine awarding the applications. This meeting may be held via email.
Award notifications will be made by June 30 of each year to the Chair and Secretary of the Commission on Ministry, as well as the Diocesan Treasurer.
The Diocesan Treasurer makes distribution of all grant awards.
It is noted that the Grant Fund is not intended to provide a source of seminary tuition offset for those within or beyond postulancy in the process for ordination. However, those in either local or seminary-based formation for holy orders may apply for costs related to their education which are not tuition fees. These applications will be considered for granting in the regular cycle, giving preference to those who are not in the ordination process. (Please note, those in formation for ordination receive other monies from the diocese towards their educational costs.)
Any monies not granted during the June approval cycle may be applied for during the remainder of the calendar year via the same process as listed above.
All requests must be received by the Missioner for Special Projects, Joe Anand-Obleton, by May 31, 2025.

Through social outreach, we the Church live out our mission to represent Christ, to bear witness to him, and to carry on his work of reconciliation in the world (BCP p. 855). By connecting to our communities and meeting our neighbors where they live, we spread the Good news of God’s love to them and even invite them to take a share in the same ministries. Our outward focus is essential to the life of the Church.
Grant applications from congregations with less than $150,000 in cash and investments will be considered. (Exceptions for investments in restricted funds will be considered. Contact Missioner Joe (missioner.anand-obleton@ednin.org) for details.
