What’s God been teaching you recently?: In the last few years God has been teaching me patience and has confirmed the values and lessons I learned growing up at Trinity are more important today than ever before.
What was your childhood ambition?: As a teenager, I had wanted to live in San Francisco because it is a progressive city. It was the best part of my single life. I arrived in 1983, the beginning of the AIDS epidemic and learned & witnessed the love and acceptance of the LGBTQ society.
What was your most memorable experience?: In 1987, I celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge opening with a 6 is walk across the bridge. The crowd grew to 300,000 then walking became standing shoulder to shoulder flattening the bridge. I met some wonderful people while we waited for 1-2 hours to get everyone off the bridge and to safely. To finish off the Golden Bridge Anniversary weekend my best friend from high school & church and I attended a Doobie Brothers concert which featured fifteen of the original band members.
Favorite book?: I have many favorite books; The Harry Potter series and the annual reading of Tuesdays with Morrie come to mind first.
Where would you want to visit before you die and why?: My mother at nearly 80 years old and I went to Italy and I enjoyed it but my exploration was limited by her stamina. The memories with her are priceless but I would love to return to my adventure in my ancestor’s homeland.
