Grace Episcopal Church, a pastoral-sized parish on the Southwest side of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, is eagerly seeking its next priest-in-charge. We are a joyously progressive faith community whose liturgy blends the contemporary with the traditional. Collaboration with other area faith communities is a priority for us, particularly in our outreach efforts. We are currently in the midst of negotiations with St. Alban’s Episcopal Church regarding a 2-point ministry partnership, and we hope to publish a joint posting in the near future. We hope for a priest who is energetic and flexible, embraces variety, and is compassionate in ministry.

Interested persons should send a cover letter, cv and OTM Profile to Missioner Terri Bays.

Position Posting: 2 Priests-In-Charge—CEMP

  • Lake County, Indiana USA (map)

If you are yearning for something completely different, the Calumet Episcopal Ministry Partnership (CEMP) may be what you're looking for!  We are “one church in six locations” in Northwest Indiana that each retain their individual liturgical and social character while joined in community.  Specifically, we are:

    •    St. Augustine's, Gary
    •    St. Barnabas in the Dunes, Gary
    •    St. Christopher's, Crown Point
    •    St. Paul's, Munster
    •    St. Stephen's, Hobart
    •    St. Timothy's, Griffith.

Our ministry settings are urban, suburban, and small-town, and our worship styles run the gamut!  Our six faith communities not only share clergy but also collaborate on formation, pastoral care, and outreach. We particularly enjoy shared social activities!  Each of our parishes has a rich history and identity, and we appreciate and celebrate this. We are seeking two (2) full-time priests-in-charge to coordinate and collaborate with other part-time and supply clergy in an ongoing process of discovery and re-invention.

The parishes of CEMP are all located in Lake County, Indiana, which is situated along the south shore of Lake Michigan.  “The Region” (as it is known by locals) is a mere 30-50 miles from downtown Chicago and is known for tree-lined bedroom communities as well as light and heavy industry.  It’s also known for environmental beauty seldom seen so close to industrial development, including Indiana Dunes National Park, one of our nation’s newest national parks.  Residents benefit from easy access to all Chicago has to offer for recreation, entertainment, and shopping, yet the overall cost-of-living is fully 10% lower than the US average.  Because transportation options abound, many people choose to live in NW Indiana and work in the city.  The close-knit communities of Lake County support a widespread parks system, historic attractions, vibrant local events, art galleries, farmers’ markets, and museums that add to the cultural diversity of the region.  Excellent schools (both public and private) and universities attract families to the area and help sustain property values.

Intrigued? We heartily invite you to explore who we are and what we have to offer. Successful candidates may be at various stages of ministry experience, though some managerial and collaboration experience is essential.  For more information:

*Calumet is the Native American word for a highly decorative ceremonial pipe used by the Potawatomi tribe and other original residents of this land bordered by the rivers that eventually spill into Lake Michigan.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is a small, traditional, Anglo-Catholic parish with a heart for our community. We are seeking a 3/4-time priest-in- charge who will help us continue to discern and grow into the calling for which our worship commissions us. If that sounds like you, if you are a compassionate pastor who appreciates the ways in which ancient liturgy equips us for rather than shielding us from the challenges of our world, if you enjoy good company of all ages, if the love of God shines through in your prayer and preaching, please consider whether St. Paul’s might be the place for you:

La Porte offers the coziness of a small town with connectedness to the big city. We are happy to call La Porte our hometown, and we are eager to help you make it yours. We therefore invite you to read the pages of our profile in a spirit of prayerful discernment. Position Posting: Curate—Trinity, Ft. Wayne

  • Trinity Episcopal Church (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Trinity Episcopal Church is seeking a Curate (with the possibility of becoming Associate Rector), to work collaboratively with the Rector to serve our growing, prayerful, and dedicated downtown parish. Trinity is a transitional sized parish with a commitment to increasing our ability to grow and form disciples, intensifying our outreach efforts, and reaching the rapidly redeveloping downtown area. The ministry of the curate will have special focus on Evangelism and Outreach, but they will take part in all aspects of priestly ministry: preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and administration of the Sacraments. This is a new position to meet the needs and mission of a growing parish.

A successful candidate for Curate will be a transitional deacon or priest who has a deep and abiding love for Jesus and for all of God’s children. She or he will have a passion to grow and further develop their own discipleship and assist others in doing the same. The Curate can expect intentional mentoring and the opportunity to partner with the rector and lay leadership to dream and imagine about all that the future of Trinity Church can be.

This position is full-time; salary will be in accordance with our diocesan guidelines. Full benefits are available for the curate and their family.

Trinity Episcopal Church is entering its 175th year of ministry in Fort Wayne. We are a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Indiana. Trinity is a community with a rich history that informs but does not define our future. Our nursery and youth programs, as well as young adult ministries are growing.

We worship at 7:30am and 10:00am on Sunday mornings. Every Friday morning, we offer a mass with the sacrament of unction, followed by a Bible study. Throughout the year we offer Evensongs, Services of Lessons and Carols, and special Holy Day liturgies.

Fort Wayne is consistently rated one of the top cities to raise a family. The Children’s Zoo, Ft. Wayne Trail System, Tincaps Baseball Stadium, Local Theatre, and Riverfront are second to none. The city is also host to a number of local restaurants, coffee shops, and microbreweries. It offers easy access to Indianapolis, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Detroit.

For more information, or to apply, please contact the Rev’d T.J. Freeman, Rector, at tjfreeman@trinityfw.org or 260.423.1693 ext. 11.
